GSM Invests in Be Group to Bring Vinfast Electric Vehicles to Ride-hailing Services in Vietnam

On March 21, GSM- Vingroup’s electric vehicle leasing company and Be Group signed a cooperation agreement to make Be Group a multi-service consumer platform and provide technology transport services in Vietnam.

Through direct investment in Be Group, GSM will support their partner to become a consumer multi-service platform, offering technology transport services in Vietnam. Through financial partners, GSM will also assist Be Group drivers to switch from gasoline-powered vehicles to electric cars.

“Electric cars and motorbikes will help Be Group and drivers improve service quality and optimize business efficiency with cost savings on operating costs and noise-free, smoke-free experiences,” said a GSM representative. In the early stages, GSM will cooperate with VPBank to provide exclusive incentives for Be Group drivers to rent or buy Vinfast electric cars and motorbikes through GSM at attractive costs.

In the ride-hailing business, both parties share a calling platform. Customers who use the Be Group application to call taxis can choose GSM’s electric taxi service alongside the current beCar and beTaxi services.

The parties will also work together on communication and promotion to raise public awareness of the advantages of environmentally-friendly transportation options. This will encourage the transition to using electric vehicles.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh, CEO of GSM, evaluated the investment cooperation agreement with Be Group as an important step in the public transportation’s “greening” strategy that GSM is implementing in Vietnam. This agreement will give Be Group drivers the opportunity to switch to modern, environmentally-friendly, smart transportation at reasonable costs.

Ms. Vu Hoang Yen, CEO of Be Group, said that the platform currently serves hundreds of thousands of drivers and nearly 10 million customers, providing widespread services across Vietnam. Therefore, the company recognizes the importance of promoting green transportation habits to Vietnamese consumers in an effective and timely manner. Cooperation with GSM will help realize the ambition of greening the streets, providing users and drivers with safe and noise-free transportation at reasonable costs.

“This cooperation also demonstrates our contribution to the government’s common policy of committing to and implementing synchronized solutions towards the goal of net-zero emissions by 2050,” said Ms. Vu Hoang Yen.
